Frederick and Charles Wacker mansions. The tan house (1838 N.) was built in 1872 by Frederick Wacker, a German beer baron. In 1873, he built 1836 N. for his only son, Charles. Charles would go on to be part of Daniel Burnham's Chicago City Planning from 1909 to 1926. He was also the youngest board member for the Columbian exposition at the age of 37. Wacker Street would eventually be named for Charles Wacker in 1926. Sources: Wikipedia, ancestry.com
